Warranty Coverage
The Carport Co. offers warranty coverage for nearly every inch of your carport or metal structure. When this company was created, there was an air of negative customer service when it came to warranty coverage and claims. Many customers were outright denied coverage on components of their structures they were specifically told would be covered.
The Carport Co. set out to improve this unfortunate reality many buyers experienced. Part of this means taking a loss of profit for customer happiness, and we’re happy to do that. We offer extremely in-depth rust, wind, color, and maintenance, warranty coverage to ensure your structure stands the test of time.
Warranty Coverage Overview
As mentioned above, we offer warranty coverage that covers almost every inch of your structure, including:
- Rust Warranty: 1-year and 20-year rust warranty options depending on steel framing gauge.
- Wind Warranty: 20-years 120 MPH wind warranty.
- Color and Fade Warranty: 35-year color and fade warranty on steel sheet metal.
- Maintenance Warranty: 1-year maintenance warranty from date of installation.
- Workmanship Warranty: 30-day workmanship warranty from date of installation.

20-Year Rust Warranty
If you purchase a structure from us and the framing rusts, we will take care of repairing or replacing your framing at no additional cost to you.
Rust Warranty Coverage
Our rust warranties are offered in two different term lengths, depending on which gauge you decide to go with:
- 1-year rust warranty for 14-gauge steel.
- 20-year rust warranty for 12-gauge steel.
Rust Warranty Exclusions
The following items/conditions will not be covered and/or void your rust coverage:
- Rust that occurs on the bottom of the base rails, where the tubing touches the ground or any surface, is not covered under the rust warranty.
- Structures installed in, around, or over water, water that contains chemicals, water that contains salts, or water that contains anything else that would cause the metal rust, are not covered under the rust warranty.
20-Year 120 MPH Wind Warranty
If you purchase a structure from us and follow our anchoring requirements, we will repair any wind damage your structure takes during the warranty period.
Wind Warranty Coverage
Our wind warranty will cover any damage caused by wind hitting the structure directly, that causes the properly anchored building to be removed from the foundation.
- 20-year 120 MPH wind damage warranty.
Wind Warranty Exclusions
If any of the following conditions are met, the wind coverage will be void:
- Installed on anything other than concrete, gravel, dirt, asphalt, or crushed asphalt millings.
- Customer uses their own anchors.
- Anchors can not be securely fastened into the ground due to rock or unlevel surface (this is not a breach of contract).
- Structure is anchored to wood platform, wood base, or any other foundation type made of or constructed with wood.
- Structure anchored incorrectly, or customer otherwise fails to follow guidelines outline by manufacturer.
After the 1-year maintenance warranty expires, the following would go into effect:
- Any frame, metal trim, or doors damage due to high winds, but not as a result of anchor failure, would be the responsibility of the customer or their homeowner’s insurance.
- No guarantee the underside coating of new metal sheeting applied to existing, non damaged metal will match the shade of the existing metal..
35-Year Color and Fade Warranty
We are proud to partner with Sherwin Williams for our coil coatings. They offer incredibly coverage, which they recently just extended by 5 years.
Color and Fade Warranty Coverage
Sherwin Williams’ warranties include the following:
- 25-year Sherwin Williams’ color and fade warranty for extrusion applications.
- 35-year Sherwin Williams’ color and fade warranty for coil applications.
Color and Fade Warranty Exclusions
Sherwin Williams’ color and fade coverage for extrusion and coil applications only covers the following items:
- Cracking
- Flaking
- Peeling
- Chalking
- Fading
- Color Changes
1-Year Maintenance Warranty
Keeping your carport or metal building in good-condition does require maintenance from time to time. Which is exactly why the first year is on us! Learn from what we do and how we can help.
Maintenance Warranty Coverage
Our maintenance coverage helps to pick up where our other warranties fall behind. The maintenance warranty covers the following for 1-year from date of installation:
- Leaks from sheet metal on roof or siding.
- Wind damage to sheet metal or trim.
- Repairs to the frame or sheet metal.
- Door knobs and locks which have manufacturing defects.
- Rust on door knobs and locks.
Maintenace Warranty Exclusions
Maintenance coverage does not include the following:
- Leaks from overlaps on horizontal metal.
- Leaking at the base rail.
- Anything not listed in any of the aforementioned warranties.
30-Day Workmanship Warranty
We take pride in the quality of our installations. If you discover a defect within 30 days, our workmanship warranty covers repairs for walk-in doors, roll-up doors, windows, and even doors that malfunction within the first 14 days.
Workmanship Warranty Coverage
Workmanship warranty covers the below for 30-days from installation, unless otherwise stated:
- Walk in doors.
- Roll up doors.
- Windows.
- 14-day workmanship warranty on doors not opening or closing properly after installation.
Workmanship Warranty Exclusions
As our workmanship coverage is intended only for manufacturing defects, the following will not be covered:
- Anything not explicitly listed above as being covered by the 30-day or 14-day workmanship warranties.
