What Are Commercial Truss (Wide Span) PEMBs?
Commercial PEMBs, commonly referred to as “wide span” or “commercial truss” pre engineered buildings, are structures in which the width of the gable end is greater than 30′.
This framing style generally involves two different legs that have been welded together with either a boxed framing style, or what we prefer to use, which is a “spider webbed” framing style. This greatly increases the snow and wind load of the strucutres, whilst allowing us to build much further apart.
Our residential structures are built 60″ on center (5′ spacing), whilst our commercial structures are built 100″ on center (8′ 4″ spacing).
We have to install PEMBs to concrete, only use vertical siding (up and down), and have to install significantly larger headers when doing frame outs.
