New Customer Onboarding Process

We’re thrilled you’ve chosen The Carport Co. for your project! You’ve made a great decision and we promise to meet or exceed your expectations.

The Carport Co. new customer onboarding process is quite complex on the backend. We like to be thorough in what we do. That’s why we’ve created an informative explanation of what will happen to your order after you’ve paid for your structure.

1. Your Carport Co. Sales Representative

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably already been through the first step in the process, which is being introduced with your sales representative, getting quotes for different options, and getting answers to your questions.

At The Carport Co. your interaction with your assigned sales representative doesn’t end with you handing over money and never speaking to that person again. Your assigned sales representative will continue to be your main point of contact and account manager, both before and after your structure has been installed.

Once you’ve paid your deposit on your structure, your sales representative will send your order to the quality control department.

2. Preventing Issues With Your Structure Before They Happen

Once the quality control department receives your order, it will undergo a very intensive inspection to ensure no mistakes have been made. Whether a mistake surfaces due to the sales representative, the customer, or the manufacturing shop, it will be caught and corrected with the quality control department.

Examples of mistakes the quality control department is in place for include incorrect installation address, pricing issues, inability to install desired door size on a specific wall, etc.

Once your order has received the all clear from the quality control department, it will move to the confirmations department.

3. Ensuring Perfection Before Cutting Your Structure

Within 1 to 3 business days, from the time you’ve placed your order, you will receive a phone call from the confirmations department. The confirmation department’s role is simply get you on the phone, read aloud your order form, and ensure you do not wish to make any last-minute changes.

Additionally, the confirmations department is responsible for ensuring you have a level site that is ready for your projects installation.

Once you’ve confirmed your order is exactly how you want it, it will move to the scheduling department.

4. Scheduling Your Structure’s Installation

When the scheduling department gets your order, they will look at other orders in your area and attempt to build a smooth route for the installation crew to follow. Crews will have 1-4 orders on their trucks, depending on the size of the orders, and the scheduling department tries to make a circle for them to follow. Sometimes this isn’t possible due to too many installs, or too long of a drive, so the crew will stay in a hotel before continuing on the next day.

You will receive a call 3-5 days before installation to set up a day and time that works best for you. Your order will then move to the manufacturing shop.

5. Cutting Your Structure

Once the shop has your order, they will cut it almost immediately. This process doesn’t usually take longer than a couple of hours. After the shop cuts your order, it will sit in the warehouse until it’s ready to move on to the installation crew.

6. Installing Your Structure

Once an installation crew is assigned to your project, they will pick up the cut order from the shop, load it onto a truck, and set out to your location. Our structures get manufactured in New Castle, Indiana 95% of the time, as ACE Steel Carports is our primary manufacturer, but if your order is going through a different manufacturer, it will probably get manufactured in Dickson, TN (Eagle Carports) or Mt. Summit, IN (American Steel Carports).

Installation times vary, but 1-3 hours for an open carport, and 4-8 hours for a fully enclosed garage is standard. Wide span structures could take longer and require multiple days on site, though we can assure you it will be significantly faster than a pole framed or stick built structure.
