Why I Started The Carport Co.
I started The Carport Co. to fix a problem I saw firsthand: customers being sold whatever made the manufacturer the most money, not what actually fit their needs.
Five years ago, I worked for a carport manufacturer where I learned the industry inside and out—the good construction practices and the corner-cutting that’s far too common. That experience showed me what I actually wanted to do: help customers avoid the junk and find structures actually worth their hard-earned money.
That’s why I built The Carport Co. to be different. I don’t work with every manufacturer who offers me a commission. I personally vet each one, evaluating their quality standards, installation practices, and customer service. I only partner with manufacturers whose structures I’d put on my own property.

Are you a manufacturer or a dealer?
We’re an independent dealer representing multiple premium manufacturers. This means you get access to several high-quality options instead of being limited to one company’s products. We personally vet each manufacturer for quality, customer service, and installation practices before partnering with them.
Where are your structures manufactured?
Every structure we sell is manufactured in the USA using American steel. Our partner manufacturers are located throughout the country and build to rigorous engineering standards that meet local building codes nationwide.
Who handles the installation?
Installation is performed by experienced crews from the manufacturer. They’re trained specifically on these structures and handle everything from anchoring to final assembly. We coordinate the entire process and remain your point of contact throughout.
How long does the installation process take?
Most carports and garages are installed in 2-4 hours, depending on size and complexity. Larger or more complex structures may take a full day. The installation crew will give you a more specific timeframe when they schedule your appointment.
What's the timeline from order to installation?
Lead times typically range from 2-4 weeks depending on the manufacturer, your location, and current demand. We’ll give you an accurate timeline when you place your order and keep you updated if anything changes.
What states do you serve?
We serve 44 states nationwide. We currently don’t operate in Alaska, Hawaii, and a few other states due to shipping logistics. Contact us to confirm we serve your area.
Will I need a permit for my carport or metal building?
Permit requirements vary heavily by location, but the general answer is yes, you will need a permit for your structure. We wrote an article on this topic here: Do You Need a Permit for a Metal Carport?
What site preparation do I need?
At minimum, you’ll need level ground where the structure will be installed. For the best results, we recommend a concrete pad or gravel base, though some customers choose to anchor directly to level dirt.
What if I have issues after installation?
We’re here to help. Contact us first, and we’ll work with you and the manufacturer to resolve any issues. All structures come with manufacturer warranties covering defects in materials and workmanship.
Do you offer refunds or a money-back guarantee?
Before installation: If you cancel your order within 3 days of the date you placed the order, we’ll refund your deposit in full minus any credit card processing fees (2.9% + $0.30 per transaction, which our payment processor doesn’t refund to us). If your permit application is denied by your city, you will also receive a refund. In all other cases, deposits are non refundable.
After installation: Once your structure is installed, we cannot offer refunds. However, if you experience any issues with materials, workmanship, or installation quality, we’ll work directly with the manufacturer to make it right, whether that means repairs, replacements, or other solutions covered under warranty.
Our commitment: We want you to be satisfied with your structure. If you have concerns at any point, contact us first and we’ll do everything we can to resolve them.
